Speaker:   Jim Menge - The Future - Looking Back to Look Forward

What does hindsight being 20/20 have to do with understanding trends going forward? From his work as a travel innovator and strategist, Jim will use current concepts such as word clouds and infograms to sift through the data overload and focus on what trends are happening in business, travel, and technology.

Jim was a speaker (and the overall moderator) of the highly successful LABTA Education Day on March 13. Jim’s session was the highest rated of the five sessions that made up the event in the survey of attendees. Some actual comments from attendees on his presentation included:

Jim has served in as many diverse positions as there are, and with as many companies. While at American Airlines and Sabre, Jim was Vice President of Technology and Evangelist, managing most third-party technology projects. At Virtuoso, Jim led the effort to grow their revenue through the development of key sales processes and metrics. As head of Sales for SilverRail, a rail distribution aggregator and Silvercar, a single make/model car rental company launched in January 2013, Jim has lived the travel industry planes, trains and automobile model.

As a travel addict (90+ countries), Jim experiences what many customers live through in building their itineraries, acquiring products and in their travels. While abroad, Jim acted as CEO of one of the largest travel companies in the Caribbean, acting CTO of the #3 OTA in Brazil and Project Executive for a major airline CRS cutover in Japan. He holds a Certificate in Innovation Management and a BS in Business Management. Jim has also authored a management book chapter titled, Business Evangelism.
